In March, Airbus got lucky, its sales went positive to a whopping net
sales of 8 aircraft. (can't find the article that provided this info).
Boeing just announced production cuts.
So far this year, Boeing is still negative in sales. 32 cancellations of
787s and only 28 new sales (-4 net sales).
For 2010, Boeing is to drop 777 production rate from 7/month down to
5/month.
I am somewhat surprised that the economic situation hasn't generated
much media coverage about airlines. Air Canada is expected to go into
bankrupcy protection mid year. Have any other airlines indicated that
they will go into chapter 11 (or local equivalent) this year ?
Also, with the upcoming serious cutbacks and scaling down of the US car
makers, does anyone have predictions on whether Detroit will remain an
important hub for Delta/NW ?
